COVID-19 Response & Reentry

Soma Eastside Church is committed to caring for the health and safety of our church members as well as our community.

In light of the CDC and Governor Inslee’s guideline updates last week, we have updated the guidelines for our church gatherings. Those who are fully vaccinated (two weeks AFTER the final vaccine) will no longer be required to wear a mask, indoors or outdoors. If you are not fully vaccinated, we ask that you continue to wear a mask indoors at our gatherings. Anyone who prefers to wear a mask is welcome to do so, and we will continue to have masks available in the lobby. In order to keep a welcoming environment, we will not be checking or monitoring vaccine status.

For many, this is exciting news! It will be a welcome relief to see smiles and feel a bit of normalcy again. For others, this is frustrating and may feel uncomfortable that some people will not be wearing masks. Our goals are to follow the Biblical directive to respect our authorities, and to love and care for one another within our community. We have an opportunity to practice putting others’ needs before our own in how we respond to and treat each other. We ask that everyone who attends our Sunday gatherings remember that there are people present who feel differently than you – please be respectful and considerate in the way you interact with others.

Please note that we are NOT taking a stance on the vaccine or recommending whether or not people should get it - that is a personal choice. We have been and will continue to follow the Washington state guidelines for reopening, and will do what it takes for us to be able to meet in person. These guidelines will likely change frequently during the next several months  - we appreciate your understanding and kindness as we do our best to make wise choices.

In line with Phase 3 re-opening guidance, we are currently offering two in-person services, indoors, at Bellevue Way Community Church. Indoor services can accommodate 127 people in the main sanctuary and up to 80 people in the Fellowship Hall.

Beginning June 6th, we will move to ONE outdoor service at 10:00am in the BWCC parking lot, weather permitting. Each week we will decide on Saturday if the Sunday service will go forward outdoors, based on the weather. Make sure to stay connected to our website and social media channels to keep up on any changes.

Soma Kids has options for babies through 5th grade.  Find our more on our Sunday Service page.

The service will be live streamed on both our YouTube channel and Facebook page.

Use the link on the Sunday Service page to register your household to help us keep an accurate headcount.  Those who attend will need to follow state and local Phase 3 guidelines, which are listed below.

You can find answers to FAQs about in-person services here.
