Why We Give

Giving is a way to show that we trust God with our lives and our finances. Giving is meant for our benefit because sacrificing a portion of our income helps us look outside our selfishness and makes us more aware of the needs of others.  The main purpose of giving to Soma Eastside is to support the needs of our pastors and the work of our church.

Giving is an act of faith that helps us keep our priorities straight. It reminds us that we don’t own anything in this life. God is in control, and we’re only managers of what He’s given us (2 Corinthians 9).

6 Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. 7 Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. 8 And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. 

Fund the Mission

We encourage all of those who are part of our Church family to give—not out of obligation but out of a spirit of worship. God has given us everything we have, and giving back to the Church is one way to give thanks to God for providing for and blessing us.  Your gifts allow God's mission to go forward, both in our community and around the world.

Giving Records

Your information is held securely when you give to Soma Eastside Church.  When you give online or by check, records of your tithes are kept and you will receive an annual giving record in January to use for tax purposes.  You can check your contact information by setting up or accessing a Giving Fire account.

Ways to Give

There are many easy ways for you to give, 

• give online (one-time or recurring)

• Sunday service (cash or check)

• mail a check to the church office 

• your bank's bill pay service to our office

• Give shares of stock (instructions HERE).

Giving FAQ

1. Is online giving secure?
   Yes it is.  Your information will only be used to process transactions, and never shared with any outside parties.
2. Will I receive an annual record of giving?
   If you give online or by check, yes!  Make sure that you set up a GivingFire account and verify your contact information so you receive the record in January.
3. How are tithes used at Soma Eastside Church?
   Tithes fund the operations of the church as well as fund our support for other churches and organizations. Tithes and offerings given to Soma Eastside can be submitted under the “General Fund” option.
4. Can I find financial reports or budgets for Soma Eastside?
